- Apply engineering principles and analysis tools to perform detailed design of components and testing systems utilizing hydraulic actuators, pumps, control logic manifolds and piping distribution.
- Direct the work of drafting & design resources to document manufacturing and test instructions.
- Provide quote support to the sales team for new opportunities.
- Gather and review design requirements as it pertains to the overall system.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to create a fully aligned system solution.
- Monitor and engage with system assembly and checkout operations.
- Other accountabilities/duties as assigned.
Education and
Experience:
- B.S. Mechanical Engineering and 5
years of progressively demanding design experience. - Experience with SolidWorks, Pro E or similar CAD system.
- High working knowledge of machine design, structural mechanics, vibrations, and materials science.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge in the application of Finite Element Analysis (FEA), vibration analysis and simulation tools, such as ANSYS, MATLAB and MathCAD.
- Ability to accurately estimate schedule & budget for a given task.
- Manage medium to large projects with minimal direction from senior level staff.
- Knowledge of hydraulic components and systems preferred.
