Responsibilities:
Provide expert interpretation of MRP information and Purchase Order processing to maintain business integrity and providing information platform for 'Lean' execution and service to our customers.
Develop all key facets of supplier relationship management to ensure solid supplier performance and potential cost savings for the Apex organization.
Establish and maintain a strategic sourcing strategy for Apex and our customers that comply with the Apex business model and provide opportunity to help Apex grow and contain costs.
Understand and maintain a culture of lean action within the department so that we live lean better than any other organization.
Qualification and Skill Requirements:
This position requires more than 2 years and less than or equal to 7 years experience in a procurement or purchasing position in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements:
To be effective, this position requires the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Candidate will be proficient utilization of PC, MRP, and related software experience. Demonstrated strong organizational, analytical negotiation and contracting skills in previous experience is necessary. Requires specific knowledge of a manufacturing or a technical field and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required.
Technical Competencies:
Uses processes and technology to improve the quality and efficiency of purchasing or procurement practices.
Can maintain and grow technical knowledge and expertise. Can be accurate, precise and pay attention to detail.
Has a working knowledge of personal computer operations, is proficient at Microsoft Windows 2000 AND Microsoft Office 2003 or higher.
Can read and write at a college level.
Understands and can do basic math, algebra and calculus to create a spreadsheet report or produce a query.
Licenses and Certifications:
Certification or class attendance from any of the following: ISMT, NAPM, APICS is desirable
