Summary: The primary function of the Sr. Reliability Engineer is to assure the reliability performance of Stratasys system and material products. Responsibilities include planning reliability activities for new product development, tracking and forecasting reliability performance during product development and after product release, and organizing failure resolution activities required to meet reliability goals. Works according to documented processes to improve product reliability, reduce warranty costs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (Other duties may be assigned):
Collaborates with Systems Engineering staff to define the process used to meet reliability goals for New Product Development (NPD) projects. This includes definition of standard reliability tracking and communication tools and preparation of program reliability with Operations and Quality to define the process used to measure, predict and drive reliability improvement activities for released systems, e.g. Continuation Engineering (CE) with Test Engineering and Field Service to identify and determine how to fill reliability data collection needs for NPD projects and reliability performance tracking of released expertise on systems functionality to provide guidance for design selection and root cause analysis. Serves as a subject matter expert for reliability on product development projects.Participates in engineering, reliability engineering, professional organizations and other informal networks to foster new learning and identification of best practices related to reliability periodic status on the reliability metrics for all Stratasys NPD projects and released system products. Proactively keeps Product Development Managers and other key project members informed of project reliability status.Builds a reliability database / library for Stratasys product lines by working with Design, Operations and Service departments.Supports design and test engineers to plan for reliability and durability tests, analyze the test data with appropriate tools such as Weibull++, and provide reliability improvement suggestions based on the test results.Signature authority on subsystem, design specifications. Demonstrates commitment to Stratasys Core Values by leading, acting and behaving in a manner consistent with these values.Follows all company safety policies and procedures and attend all safety trainings related to the job.
Essential Education, Skills and
Experience:
Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline (M.S degree preferred).5-8 years of engineering experience, preferably progressive reliability engineering experience on mid- to high-volume products.Must have a solid understanding of modern reliability engineering methodologies.Experience with the key reliability processes including Design for Reliability, reliability block diagrams and FMEA.Experience with reliability tools for reliability growth analysis (RGA), Weibull++, ALTA, or other reliability / Statistics software.Must have excellent verbal, written and presentation skills. Has ability to positively influence others without direct authority.Must have strong computer skills using PowerPoint, Excel, and Word (Database also preferred).The ability to anticipate the need for flexibility and adaptability due to the complexity / difficulty of technical projects.Ability to work well with others.

Physical/Environmental Requirements:
Works in a pleasant office environment with other department staff, utilizing a computer workstation and various software applications. Standard workweek is Monday-Friday, 8 hours per day plus lunch break. Specific work schedule is coordinated with direct supervisor.Travel requirement: 5 - 10%.
