This is a part time weekend Merchandiser position in the Brooklyn Center, Golden Valley, and Plymouth Areas
SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the District Sales Manager is responsible for regular, maintained account service, sales, and account development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned due to business needs or special circumstances which may require reassignment to other departments or other job duties.
SERVICE
Follows assigned plano grams for in gondola space; rotates product to assure freshness; moves and transfers short dated product from lower volume to higher volume accounts; removes out-of-code and damaged product from account shelves; prices merchandise in a correct manner; cleans and replaces defective shelving.
Maintains neat, clean and orderly displays in all displayable accounts; follows and adheres to company approved merchandising procedures and plans; reclaims and replaces outmoded or defective display equipment; keeps material current at all times.
SALES
Makes sales presentations to accounts as directed; sells authorizations (to attain a full line of Snyder''s products and maintain them), advises manager on the needs and availabilities of additional permanent space; sells secondary space and racks.
Makes sales presentations as directed for all promoted items to store management personnel to include buying commitments, use of special display material, and point-of-sale material; assembles and maintains all sold displays and display materials; reports profit generated and success of promotions to management on a regular basis.
Attends sales meetings as required; informs sales management of field activity such as market conditions, availability and condition of merchandise, and competitor activities; appraises competitor efforts in the market place relative to route business.
GENERAL ACTIVITIES
Practices and adheres to appropriate safety and hygiene guidelines and procedures for safe housekeeping, vehicle operation, and personal protection; operates route vans in a safe and knowledgeable manner; practices defensive driving; obeys all traffic regulations and vehicle codes for the states/communities in which the vehicle is operated; performs pre-trip vehicle inspections on a daily basis; follows and adheres to the Company vehicle preventative maintenance schedule; reports all vehicle and equipment malfunctions for repair to supervision; reports all job-related personal injuries to supervision.
Maintains a neat and orderly personal appearance; adheres to Company Dress Code; conducts business in an ethical and professional manner; is courteous and polite to customers and the general public; strives to enhance and continually refine personal selling skills.
Performs other job-related assignments, duties or projects as directed by the District Sales Manager or Regional Sales Manager.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), along with related experience and/or training. Prior route sales experience is a plus. Must possess and maintain a good driving record and be able to operate a route van with standard transmission.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Must have current drivers license.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
