Dir of Software Engineering - Remote or Hybrid
Job Details Description We are looking for a Director of Software Engineering to join Fingerhut, a market-leading FinTech whose mission is to help its customers establish, build, or rebuild their credit! This role will be based out of our Eden Prairie office which operates in a hybrid work setting. This role is open to remote work in designated states within the US. Fingerhut has set becoming an 'Employer of Choice' as one of its four 'Transformation' goals to kick-off in 2022. After two years of pandemic, the 'great resignation', highly competitive Minneapolis and national labor market given the ability to work remotely leadership recognizes that the employee experience has to be greatly enhanced from acquisition through development to lead to retention. The E-commerce team builds the commerce platform that helps millions to shop, apply for credit, and make payments through our mobile application and website. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Mentor and build a curious and high-performing engineering team. Develop an engineering roadmap for Bluestem Ecommerce that positions our mobile, commerce, and tools for innovation and scale. Build strong relationships with product teams, engineering leadership, and business stakeholders. Strive for best-in-class monitoring and stabilization to know of issues before the customer. Uncover the problem statements to help your teams understand priorities and provide context to help them make better decisions. QUALIFICATIONS 6-12 years of proven experience as an Engineering leader and a proven track record of successful management of a large portfolio of applications. Ability to hire, grow, and retain top engineering talent. Strong communicator with exceptional listening skills, and the ability to see the bigger picture and communicate this effectively at all levels. The ability to function in a complex, fast-paced, demanding, and changing environment. History of success in driving results, establishing strategic direction and implementing a process improvement mindset. Demonstrated leadership in driving a culture of innovation, growth, ownership, and drive for modernization. Experience implementing Cloud-based solutions. Background in Groovy is a plus. $200K -- $250K
